A thread lift is a type of procedure where temporary sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible “lift” in the skin.

Thread lifts are non-surgical treatments that do not require sedation and have significantly less downtime than surgery. We use local anesthesia, so you can drive yourself to your appointment and most patients are able to get back to their daily lives quickly. In addition, thread lifts are not as expensive as surgery.

Very fine biodegradable sutures are placed deep into the skin which your provider then uses to reposition sagging skin to a higher, more youthful position.

Our trained nurses will take pictures and apply a topical numbing for 20 minutes prior to your procedure beginning. Once the treatment begins, it will take about 20-40 minutes depending on the area we are treating.

We use local anesthesia to make this a comfortable procedure. Afterwards, most people may feel some tenderness but are able to get back to their daily lives almost immediately.

Silhouette Instalift ™ is made from Polyglycolide/L-lactide (PLGA), which has a long history of use as a well-tolerated, resorbable suture. NovaThreads are absorbable Polydioxanone (PDO) threads, which also have a long history of biomedical applications, particularly in cardiothoracic surgery.

Results are immediate and improve over the 2 weeks following your procedure.

Your level of lift will be determined by your level of skin laxity, and the number and location of sutures that are placed.

The unique sutures cause the production of collagen to aid in healthy skin renewal for natural-looking, long-lasting results. The unique sutures will naturally be absorbed by your body and can be expected to last 8-12 months, but many patients still have lifting effects after the sutures have dissolved. The sutures eventually dissolve and natural aging continues, just as it would if you had no treatment or had a surgical lift.

If you have areas of laxity or wrinkles and lines that you want to address, thread lifts are a great treatment. They are not a good treatment for someone with a significant amount of laxity as they will only lift the skin a few millimeters and create a more subtle and natural looking end result than facelift surgery. Thread lifts are best suited to patients who are dealing with mild to moderate, rather than severe, signs of skin laxity.
